Quick answer: CLG Construction & Roofing repairs and replaces roofs on Nashville-area homes. A repair fixes the actual leak source (usually flashing, pipe boots, valleys or wind-lifted shingles); a replacement removes the old roof down to the deck, repairs soft decking, and installs new underlayment, flashing, ventilation and shingles or metal. Most single-family shingle replacements take one to three working days once materials are on site.

Residential roofing for Nashville-area homes

Your roof shields your family, belongings and energy bills. CLG Construction & Roofing provides residential roof repairs and full replacements for homeowners across Nashville and Middle Tennessee.

What we help with

  • Architectural asphalt shingle roofs
  • Metal roofing options
  • Leak diagnosis and targeted repairs
  • Ventilation and underlayment upgrades
  • Storm-related residential damage repair
  • Full tear-off and replacement when needed

Repair or replace? How we decide

  • Usually a repair: damage limited to one area, plenty of service life left, solid decking, shingles that still match reasonably well.
  • Worth discussing: two or three problem spots on a roof in the second half of its life. We show you the cost of repairing now against replacing soon.
  • Usually a replacement: widespread granule loss, brittle or curling shingles, multiple leaks, or soft decking across large areas.

We put the recommendation in writing with photos, so you can get a second opinion if you want one.

What a CLG replacement includes

  • Protecting landscaping, siding and driveways before tear-off
  • Removing existing roofing layers down to the deck
  • Replacing damaged decking (priced per sheet in the estimate)
  • Ice-and-water shield in valleys and at penetrations, plus synthetic underlayment
  • New drip edge, step and counter flashing, and pipe boots
  • Ventilation sized to the attic
  • Magnetic nail sweep, debris haul-off and a final walkthrough with photos

Materials we commonly discuss

Most homes in our area perform well with quality architectural asphalt shingles. Metal systems are a strong alternative for longevity and certain architectural styles. We match recommendations to your budget, neighborhood, and inspection findings—not a one-size pitch.

If water is coming in right now

  1. Move belongings and electronics away from the drip and set out a bucket.
  2. Keep people away from any bulging, water-filled ceiling.
  3. Do not climb onto a wet roof.
  4. Call CLG at (615) 852-6401 and tell us water is actively coming in.

What affects the price

Roof size (in 100 sq ft "squares"), pitch, how many layers come off, how much decking needs replacing, material choice, and how many chimneys, skylights, valleys and walls the roof meets. See our Nashville roof replacement cost guide for published third-party ranges.

Residential Roofing FAQ

Straight answers. Local codes and your project details control specifics.

How long does a roof replacement take in Nashville?

Most single-family shingle roofs are finished in one to three working days once materials arrive. Larger or steeper roofs, metal systems, extensive decking repairs and rain delays can add time. CLG gives you an expected schedule in your written estimate.

Can you put new shingles over my old roof?

Sometimes code allows a second layer, but CLG generally recommends a full tear-off so we can inspect and repair the decking, install proper underlayment and flashing, and avoid the extra weight. In Metro Nashville, adding a new layer is listed as work that needs a building permit.

Why is my roof leaking when the shingles look fine?

Most leaks come from flashing, pipe boots, valleys or nail holes rather than open shingle areas. Water can also run along the deck or rafters before dripping, so the stain is often several feet from the actual entry point.

Do I need to be home during the replacement?

No, as long as we can reach the roof, an outdoor outlet and the driveway. Move cars out of the driveway, take fragile items off walls next to the roof, and keep pets away from the work area.
